Posion Control Hotline
From Paw Printz, November - December, 2000

North Shore Animal League America and PROSAR International Animal Poison Center have teamed to bring owners a poison hotline.

The animal poison hotline (TM) is a 24 hour, 7 day a week center you can phone in case of an accidental poisoning of your pet.  It is staffed with veterinary experts in toxicology and is designed to work with you and your vet to care for your pet.  PROSAR brings 20 years of poison experience to the center, and they have handled 35,000 animals per year who have been exposed to toxic chemicals.

Each call is $35 per case, and credit cards are accepted over the telephone.  This is not much more – in some cases even less – than a regular veterinary office visit.  In the case of your pet‘s exposure to a hazardous material, this service is invaluable.

The toll free number is 888-232-8870.  The call is free, but remember that there is a $35 per case fee.
